Jackie Isard B.A (Hons) CBM

Botanical & Wildlife Artist and Tutor

I began watercolour painting nearly 2.5 years ago after a long career in graphic design and have had a very successful time so far. I have been recognised by the Society of Botanical Artists and at present I’m working towards full membership. My main achievement in 2016 was to be accepted by the RHS to exhibit with them within the next 5 years. In 2017 I was awarded a CBM (Certificate of Botanical Merit) by an outside judge at the SBA exhibition for my ‘Vessels of Life’ painting.

I joined the Botanical Painters at Brackenwood group (Formerly the BNSBPS) in 2015 in order to mix with like minded artists and to learn about the Botanical painting style. In 2018 I began teaching Botanical and Nature painting at the Brackenwood venue. I planned a range of courses in which students could study and practice watercolour techniques to use in Botanical painting as well as painting other wildlife/nature subjects. In 2018 I began running some courses at the University Bristol Botanic Gardens. I intend to inspire, encourage, advise and give confidence!

I have a great love of nature and flowering plants, especially the wildflower kind. I’m an avid supporter of protecting our beautiful meadows and our bees!
